Dr. Joseph T. Crouse, is a Labor Economist with Vocational Economics, Inc.  He provides forensic economic testimony for cases involving total and permanent partial disability as well as employment related matters, such as alleged wrongful termination. He has extensive knowledge in cases involving workers in the construction trades.  In these cases, detailed analyses of lost wages, health coverage, and pension benefits resulting from injury are often at issue.

Dr. Crouse received his doctorate in Economics from the University of Nevada.  In addition to his economic background, he obtained an MBA in strategic management from Frostburg State University, an MA in Human Sciences from Hood College, and a BS in psychology from Charter Oak State College.

Dr. Crouse has researched extensively on the impact of disability on earnings and worklife expectancy and authored or co-authored several publications, including, but not limited to the “The Effect of Disability on Worklife Expectancy for Canadians: An Aid to Assessing Reduction in Lifetime Earning Capacity” and “The Economics of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Disability”.  He also played a role in the most recent revision of The Gamboa Gibson Worklife Expectancy Tables.

Prior to joining the firm in 2014, Dr. Crouse taught at University of Nevada as well as Carroll Community College. In addition, Dr. Crouse worked as a research assistant at University of Nevada with projects involving the Current Population Survey and the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth.

The Matthewson Entrepreneurship Research Prize was awarded to Dr. Crouse in 2013. In addition, he was selected to present his research at the Graduate Student Research Forum Poster Session at the National Tax Association Meeting in November 2013.  He was awarded the best Ph.D. student award in Economics, College of Business from the University of Nevada in 2014.
